Dehumidifier working?

I have a counter top dehumidifier. We have had it about 3 years. For the first couple of years it seemed to work great. Each morning I would check it and there would be about a cup of water in the tank. Lately over night I’m only getting a couple of spoon fulls.

The lights and motor are running normal. Is there a way to test it’s working properly?

Get a hygrometer. There may not be much moisture to remove. Where I am now, the inside humidity is only 34%, so I turned off the dehumidifiers.

Thanks for the hygrometer recommendation. Texas summer. Humidity is 70% and up.
