Driver’s mirror position

I use a temporary shield similar to lostinfla's. Been considering making permanent one out of plastic with a hinge. Is your shield permanently attached to the a pillar or do you attach, use then remove? If so, how is it attached?

I bent the attached end at a 45 deg angle and slipped it under the pillar trim/ guide for the front shade. One existing screw in the trim piece holds it fine. Stays on and it's been on for a few years now. Don't even notice it anymore.

I moved my mirror forward to the A pillar and fabricated a shield from poster board that attaches to the A pillar and comes out at a 45 deg angle. It corresponds with the mirror profile, blocks all reflection and makes it easy to see out of the mirror. Coach is in a short storage session now so mirrors are covered or I'd get a better pic. Got this idea from a shield I saw on a passenger bus.View attachment 9700
