Got the new part, installed it, and the lights now work. But the diode is getting quite warm. That may be normal, I don't know. But for the time being, I'm leaving it out and will only drive during daylight hours. I have an appointment at NIRVC in Atlanta in March, so I'll let them figure it out.

That's it! That's exactly it! I know of another fellow who has the same problem as well, so it's not just an isolated case.

Yes thanks for the post, and video. I guess I need to check mine.
I would advise everyone to check theirs. Most of us don't drive much at night, so this problem might be more prevalent than we know. Be good to find out before someone ends up with a fire.
