Agreed on having service valves installed. Any RV place will tell you that the unit is sealed and can not be serviced. This is pure B.S.! By having service valves {Shrader valves} installed one can check the refrigerant charge, add refrigerant, or even evacuate the system for a full charge. The installation of the Shrader valves and a full charge of refrigerant was done on our system for $150. A new system per the RV Dealer would be $1500+. Now you figure out which is the better way.Take your unit to an actual AC service center to have it looked at and the service valves installed. I am a former AC mechanic and installing the valves is an easy 1 hour process that will make the unit serviceable in the future. Dometic is intentionally not installing those valves because it is more profitable to sell a new unit. Some of it might be EPA rules as well. Notice how new refrigerators aren't serviceable either? Back a few years ago, they were serviceable. The freons are available and these units are serviceable once the $10 valves are installed.
