External Satellite hookup for 2019 dutchstar

We would like to know how to hook up an external dish satellite to our Newmar Dutch star. Can it plug in to the cable outlet in the side of the RV that holds the power cord. Would we have to install a splitter. And would that work.

You would need a dedicated coax run between the dish and your SAT receiver box. Some get them added, some run the cable through a slide gasket or window. Many though are doing away with SAT and going streaming such as YouTube TV, etc.

Thank you for the information. That’s what we figured. As far as going streaming only, that’s great if you’re somewhere that has good Internet, but so few of the places truly have strong enough Internet to stream correctly.

It all depends on your setup. I use a pepwave router for Wi-Fi and cellular and now added Starlink to the mix. Pretty much usable internet everywhere. SAT also can have issues with obstructions with lower orbit satellite positions.

Have you checked your build sheet on the coach to see if the factory added the "Sat Prewire"? Many have Sat Prewire from the roof to the main AV location and Solar Prep already installed from basement near the battery bay to the roof.

Had direct tv sat system on our past fifth wheel, rarely got to use it, seems we are always near trees blocking the signal
