Yes, I know that this forum is entitled "new members", but I don't' think there's one for outgoing members. That's me. I have sold my motorhome and all of it's related equipment. It just became too much work, effort, anxiety and expense to continue. We kept traveling to the same place for our winter escapes, so why not get something permanent? We're now in a 55+ (20 years of eligibility) community of ground level entry manufactured home in Apache Junction, AZ. Still snowbirds.

Thank you for all the help you've given me without you even knowing it. So many times I learned things simply by reading others threads. I tried to help in my own ways and can only hope someone got something from my experiences.

Specifically a monumental thanks to @Neal who has been the father of this forum. Awesome job.

All the best to you!

I'm glad you were able to close that chapter @RandyB and we all understand that RVing is great when everything goes right, it's far from great when it doesn't and there is anxiety "peeking" at the dash checking for lights while on trips. It doesn't mean you aren't forever part of the RV family and the RVF family so I hope you'll hang out or just read for entertainment as you wish.

Wishing you the best and keep living your best life.

Just because you no longer have an RV, you can still hang around and help out where you can.

Safe travels even without an RV! ;)

As I near 77 years of age, I have to wonder when it'll be my turn to write a similar message. Then I think of my father-in-law who kept his RV going (even after a stroke took his speech and driver license away) well into his 80s, though I did have to drive and help set up the rig for him. He just didn't want to give it up - and my wife and I encouraged him and her Mom to keep going as long as possible. Hopefully we will be the same way.

I no longer have an RV but, continue visiting this site. We have made life long friends while RVing. When I built my shop, I installed a 50 Amp hook-up for when they visit.
This site is just a good place to meet and help people.

Every time I'm driving through Atlanta, fiddling with a broken part, or setting up camp in 100-degree heat somewhere, I hear my wife telling me how much fun we're going to have. But sooner or later, I think we all reach the point where we admit we've had enough fun. ;)

So yeah, for most of us, there's a life expectancy to this lifestyle. And after that, it's a nice, ground-level-entry manufactured home waiting in Apache Junction, AZ.

Well... mine will probably be in Florida.

Take care, buddy.
