Finally got a forced regen completed

I bought a diesel laptops handheld shortly after I got my coach in October 2023. I have never been able to complete a forced regen with. I have opened support tickets twice to get help. They want to do a software update to see if that is the problem. It never is. I finally broke down and bought the Zurich heavy equipment scanner at Harbor Freight today. It has a members only price of $309 now until Christmas. I looks an awful lot like the Diesel Laptops handheld that is not being offered anymore. Same size, same buttons, same icons on the home screen, same flow tree of commands, and same font. Anyway, I plugged it in, went to DPF regen section, and it fired up and did a regeneration. .48% soot load. WooHoo!!

Interesting. I’ve done a regen with the Diesel laptops handheld and worked for me. I did do the firmware update prior to first use.

I see the diesel laptops handheld now has a version 2 out. The one I bought, which works for me, is now only $199. For anyone that doesn't have a scan tool and the ability to clear codes, force a regen, I suggest considering one of these and try it out, if it doesn't work for you, return it. 199 is a great deal what is normally 699.

But a lot of options out there but I highly recommend having something on board, that works. It already saved me once from a derate and tow.
