I'm looking to purchase my first travel trailer in about 3 months. I've been researching for about a month and everything keeps pointing me to Grand Design as the frontrunner. I hear good and bad about every manufacturer but I seem to hear more good and less bad about Grand Design that others. It also helps that 3 of the 4 floorplans that I believe will work best for me are GD units. The 2 units that are leading the way right now are the Transcend 200MK and Imagine 22RBE. Size, weight, and floorplans of these 2 are pretty similar, so the decision will likely come down to quality. I plan to use this unit full-time for at least 4 months, maybe longer. Do the stick and tin models hold up to full time use as well as the aluminum/fiberglass units? Do any owners of either the Transcend line or Imagine line have any positive or negative feedback about their unit that may be something I haven't read or considered. Does one construction method tow better than the other? I'll be towing with a half ton. Any feedback that could help with this decision will be greatly appreciated.
