The two small flip (openable) windows above our dinette in our DS 4018 have begun to fog. I understand that they are not repairable. I called Newmar and they gave me a price of just over $400, EACH! Does anyone have another source for these small flip window? Has anyone found someone that can repair them? There has to be another source.

Do you know a part number for your entire window assembly? Is it an HEHR?

Interestingly some of my windows have a HEHR tag, some do not. The one in question does not. They all certainly look identical.

I just talked to some glass guys today about fogged windows in the coach (Grass Valley Glass) and they said they replace the fogged 3/8” dual pane RV windows with a solid piece of 3/8” tempered. They were here replacing about 30 windows in the house.

So Im taking the coach to them next weeked to get my windshield fixed (stopping a crack from a new chip) as they have a long history of fixing RV glass for DeMartini, and while I’m there, they will measure and bid my fogged windows.

So thats a week from tomorrow - I might need a reminder but Id be happy to share whatever I learn. To me this sounds like a very sensible and obviously permanent repair.

I’ve also read about outfits in Oregon, Az and FL that separate, clean, and re-glue dual pane RV windows. Im sure its less than the replacement cost but it also seems like it could fail again.

Rv Glass Solutions in Coburg Oregon has been replacing duel pane rv glass with laminate glass for years with great success. That is what I’m going to have them do to my drivers dual pane window. They will not touch the frameless flip windows because the mechanism is glued to the window making them extremely difficult to repair. Right now, replacement seems to be the only viable option.
Would like your feedback after your repair work.

I've had 5 windows done at Suncoast Designers in Hudson Fl. with mixed results. On the original visit, the crew that repaired the windows must have been part time help. I ended up with two windows scratched on the inside between the panes and one of the vent windows chipped on the corner. Unfortunately, this wasn't noticed until we got home, 180 miles south. I made another appointment to get this rectified, (one good thing is they do offer a lifetime warrantee) we arrived and they removed the two windows. They came back 2 hours later and said they couldn't fix it and had to order new glass. I was welcome to stay there for 2 WEEKS and wait. I declined, had them reinstall the windows, order the glass, and headed back home again. On our way out of Fl the next trip, I arranged another stop at Hudson. When I got there, they had the glass, but before I let them take the windows out, I had them check the dimensions to make sure they were correct. Turned out the new glass had small scratches and was almost as bad as what they were replacing, so it was a hard pass on my end. The manager stated the glass with scratches passes the standards for the industry. I had them replace the chipped vent window and called it a day. I'm probably the only one to notice the scratches, but I'm hoping I never have to go back again.

RV Glass Solutions parent company makes about 60% of all the bus/MH windshields used. They have replaced a couple of windshields for me, excellent workmanship. Three locations AZ, OR and FL. Highly Recommended. Was going to have them fix some fogged windows in last MH, traded in on our Current Ventana, but if it sells, we are done.

They, like most others, will not fix the frameless flip windows. They replace dual pane framed windows with their own laminated glass.
