I'm hearing evacuations are starting...any word for others heading south, help offer a heads up as you hear things.

Even in Manatee county, where our annual site is, across the bay from St Pete they have mandatory evacuations for those in the county closer to the coast.

I’ll get the link to the weatherman in that area that everyone relies on for good updates.

This morning he was saying if you could stand on your roof and see the gulf, you should be moving inland.

Here is a link to the weatherman everyone follows in Florida.

Has updates quite often and is just the facts kind of person.

Wife just let me know that he doesn’t have the evacuations noted just the updates on the storm.

If you are on Facebook, here’s the link to the only guy I follow.

Was almost there this morning. Turned back north to hang out until the storm is past. Two of my friends left their campground to stay in houses and hotels.

Hope all keep safe. Let us know if you're in or near it and keep us posted.

I was very happy to see that the forecasted track and the track that the hurricane took were the same for a change. Ian, 11 months ago, took a hard right turn off the forecasted track and changed people's lives forever, most of which still haven't gotten their homes repaired.
Anyway, I put up the shutters on all 18 windows, made sure all stuff in the yard was stored and started the "hunker". Being that it stayed off the coast 100+ miles from where we live, the heavy duty winds didn't reach us but it was pretty blustery here for 2 days and even this morning some remnants of the bands are still dropping good rains as they are being drawn toward the storm many hundred miles away. When I take the dog for a walk this morning I will see how the neighborhood looks. There was at least one big tree that looked like it wouldn't make it through a minor storm let alone this one - I expect it to be mostly gone.
Anyway, we survived another.
