So we have a freeze possible rain/snow rare event coming Tues here on the Gulf. I've read recommendations for water tanks to wrap them in specific type blankets, but I've also in the past I drained the freshwater tank and holding tanks to half or less and had no issues, as i recall than again the freeze only lasted few hours. My biggest concern is the water heater, as we lost one in Santa Fe NM when I neglected to drain it and the water froze If the heater is on and we are using it do we still need to drain it or should we be fine? I would appreciate any suggestions, gotta get ready. Thanks

Are you home or on the road? It would take a hard freeze at least a full day to have much, if any, effect on a tank of water. If worried, most big box stores sell gal. of RV antifreeze. Dump it in.
Your only problem might be the water heater which you can drain quite easily.

Where are you located on the Gulf Coast? I'm north of San Antonio and I'm not doing anything. Newmar's are well insulated and the Oasis system will automatically come on if the temp drops to 40 ℉ or lower, eliminating many of my concerns.

Are you living in the coach or is it in storage?

He says he is on the Gulf Coast, if he is in Galveston that's one scenario, and if he is on Padre Island that's a different scenario. Rarely is there a hard freeze for love a few hours anywhere on the Texas Gulf Coast.

Kinda both since we live in the rig full time in one place while we search for a new home, RV antifreeze I forgot to mention that. So keeping the water heater on it can still freeze?

Actually were in Kingsville, 45 miles from the Gulf.
