Travel full. Same reason that @Neemer provided. The fuel efficiency improvement is negligible so why run the risk of being on the roadside for a few hours with no water if you have a mechanical issue in transit? If I were in a TT or 5er, I’d probably think differently though and travel with more minimal fresh water stores.
don’t boondock and we travel full but it’s a good question as to where water can be found on the road.
we sanitize once per year. We’re full timers and always use the pump and the tanks to keep the water circulating. We have never actually used the city water directly. Always from the tanks.
