IDK but there are lots of new diesel trucks being bought and utilized every day. Thank goodness we've been lucky with ours to date. You're very lucky..... save some money by getting an older high quality diesel (one pre DEF/electronics) and having your son change out all the rubber, etc.. We have a friend with a very nice 2006 updated Country Coach

We’ve been RVing for about 8 years in our Jayco Redhawk with a Ford E450 Chassis. We are getting ready to purchase something else. Our son who is a diesel mechanic says there are a lot of problems with the newer Diesel engines and recommended that we stick with a gas engine. Just wondering what the thoughts are amongst the RV community.
What did you ever decide? There is an interesting post on IRV2 under the "full timers" section you may want to view. A couple were full timing for 3 years or so in a gas Class A and their engine blew up. It is ending their full timing experience.

In a site next to a diesel mechanic who specializes in Cummins engines. In his opinion it's a great engine. Numerous times he stressed not to idle them for long periods.
