I have a 2020 Dutch Star 4369 with a "T" handle cable release in the forward generator compartment. when I pull the handle there is not enough tension to activate the release. The cable has been getting harder and harder to pull, and now it is ineffective. The cable is still attached to the slide release linkage. The linkage moves when I pull the T handle cable, but just not enough to release the slide. The cable has two loops each approximately 10 inches in diameter under the coach in the vicinity of the driver's side forward bay, before routing to the slide release linkage. (FYI, the forward bay has a similar T handle cable set for the hood release.)
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

When I got our coach the cable was frozen in the sleeve. I sprayed some lube (PB Blaster, 3inOne or liquid wrench - don't remember) inside the sleeve and let it soak for a day or two. I also sprayed the locking mechanism and then I worked the t-handle until I was able to free it up. The first time I pulled the genny out was tough - I sprayed the rails and the rollers to free it up, which it did. After that I moved to a product called Fluid Film - it hangs around for a long time. People undercoat their vehicles with this stuff. I have not pulled the genny out since then, no need. I have a huge hood that opens to expose everything in the front bay of the coach.

I’m late to this thread. I found that if I push in on the generator slide while pulling on the t-handle, it releases easily.

This thread is a bit old but I had this problem too. My fix was to drill a hole in the compartment where the hood release is. Then attached a small shoe string cord to the release latch and put a pull ring on the end of that cord in the compartment. It becomes a straight two foot long pull, simple release for the slide release. After you release the hood you will need to extend that and put the hood up before pulling the release cord or the hood will bind. Same as you do with the original pull cord. The original pull cord is about eight feet long winding it's way down and under the generator. No wonder it binds and gets knotted up.

I have a 2004 cheetah. Front slide opened via a handle on front connected toi chains back to pins which previous owner said broke. They installed a plunger [see pic if possible] if collapsed. Anyw I dea where to get another one or a better idea.... I now use a bolt but that means getting undernerath.
