Glacier Basin Campground in Rocky Mountain National Park is an absolute gem, though bigger rigs won’t fit. The sites have no power (we have solar, so this is not a problem), and are fairly close together, but the location is perfect. There’s even a dump station and fresh water that is included in your camping fee.
In short, this place is Heaven if you have a conversion van, popup, or smaller trailer and value being in the great outdoors over watching the tube.
It’s a short walk to the shuttle bus stop, and your parking pass is good anywhere in the park.
My oldest son insisted on sleeping in a tent, so I didn’t sleep in our trailer this trip, but that part doesn’t really change.
We hiked to Bierstadt Lake (shuttle to the trailhead and hiked back to camp):
My oldest son caught his first creek fish nearby on Glacier Creek:
Home sweet weekend home:
Once the kids go to bed, I enjoy nothing more than reading by the campfire with a beer.
