We traveled from Pensacola, FL to Seattle, WA beginning March 5th for a wedding on the 13th. Took 40 across and up through New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, yada yada yada and through Snoqualmie Pass. Hit a little slush a few times and got a little snow on the windshield but nothing serious. Not sure I'm ready for it, anyway. Fun trip - boondocked most of it in Love's and TA parking lots and have spent 5 days so far at a wonderful park in Bothell, WA...Lake Pleasant RV Park. Highly recommend.

This is/was our first RV experience and we've learned a lot and been blessed to not have any major hiccups. N ow for our 'issue'. We're headed home. Looking for something to do on the way. We're in no particular rush. Would like to make the most of some of the ridiculous gas money we've spent. Seems everything north is pretty much in slumber/hibernation until April or May. We're trying to avoid snow as much as possible. Again, no scehdule other than having to dump a tank every few days or so. Don't mind truckstop lots - prefer to stay away from the Walmart thing. Would like to keep the driving to 500 (+/- 100) miles per day. Looking for interesting things to do on the way back. Any suggestions between here and there? We're in a 2007 Damon Challenger Triton v10 with a 2000 Wrangler TJ l4 5sp toad. We're here in Seattle area until Monday, noon. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried roadtrippers? That gives a lot of suggestions for things to see and do along a trip along with an overnight rv parking option. There is a limited free version and a subscription version. The free version might do the trick for you.

Have you seen what Seattle has to offer? There is a great Aviation Museum in Tacoma. Pike Place Market and the Space Needle we found entertaining. On your way home, if you could take I5 to Portland and then move to I 64 east. This will take you along side of the Columbia River for a bit (a nice scenic drive but with a bit of a hill climb as well) heading to Ogden Utah, From there head south on I15 which will take you to the desert of Southern Utah where the temps this time of year are very agreeable. The National Parks there are spectacular. You might want to test your Off Roading skills in Moab (Jeep town USA). Arches National Park is amazing as are the rest. One could spend a month in the area and not see everything there is to offer. Then you could head south to catch I40 or I10 for the rest of the trip home or, depending on road conditions and weather, head into Colorado for the high mountain scenery (I suspect that this time of year it would be still pretty snowy though).

Safe travels and I hope you enjoy your trip back home.

Out of curiosity! When did Tucumcari become the birth place of R66? The start and finish were Santa Monica, to Chicago!

Don't get it!!!

Correct, the road runs from Chicago to Santa Monica, but the Neon and cheesy tourist traps didn't, it started out west

Freestyle. Does that mean you're not going to wear underwear?
I've always heard 'What happens on vacation, stays on vacation.'.

But no. Not in this instance. 😁😜

Oooohhh!!!

In that case guess I'll have to dust off my guide book and rethink this whole subject!

Under those pretenses, don't you think rt 66 started with the return of a couple dudes from the service taking a road trip in their corvette? You know? The show that was filmed everywhere but rt 66!

Anyhow nice pics!!!

If you are a Costco member, recomend using their fuel too save some of that Fuel costs. Stick to interstate as North west has had a lot of snow. Also recomend routing thru Wyoming and take on Devils towers near Mount Rushmore, which is also a must see. Then South thru Neb. Scottsbluff monument is on the way, Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Near by on route 26, Oregon tail, is chimney rock, historical land mark. From there trough Kansas city and Saint Louis.( Riverboat cruise). South is Gettysburg, Ms. And Biloxi, Ms. Which have casino and white sand beaches.
