Took out a nice steak for the new year and Davey Crockett pellet grill wouldn't light off. We had heavy rain the past two days and the pellets if they get wet can turn to yuck, they melt very easily. I've never had an issue but I suspected water got in. I scooped out all of the pellets and then the pellet "dust" was quite heavy in the hopper so I think it just needed a good cleanout. The auger was working fine, all seemed fine. After a few cycles I got a good light off and steak is resting as we speak. I have a cover for the grill but haven't been using it. I guess it's time to not be so lazy and keep the grill covered. I also vacuumed out the burner area which needs to be done time to time, that was the first triage but no go. It was the hopper side as pellets weren't feeding.

Crisis averted. Sorry, gotta go, steak awaits.
