Hi all,
My name is Clif. My wife (Anna) and I have recently retired. Our plan (and dream) has always been to sell the house, buy an RV and live full time while seeing the country.

This is the beginning.

We are researching and planning at this stage, while downsizing the house and getting it ready to sell.

Our time frame is to buy the RV in 12 to 15 months.

Thanks in advance for putting up with all the questions that I am probably going to post.

🙂

Welcome to the lifestyle. Retirement is great. You have probably already heard this, but it’s the truth. RENT B4 YOU BUY. Rent the house out B4 you sell. Check out the road, parks and facilities. To get a feel if you can spend any amount of time on the road In a moving house. If you just love it, THEN Start looking for the unit. How big, who will do the driving, how much space do you really need?
Our first was a truck pop up camper. Bought it used, refurbished it inside, (took a couple of months) than hit the road for couple of weeks. It was a mistake, climbing into the overhead bed was not an issue, getting out was. In the process of selling the pop up.
Meanwhile we moved up to a used 21’ Road Trek 210. Has a king size bed on the floor and the other comforts. We both share the driving. Learned a lesson and still loving life.
Welcome.

Welcome from Wisconsin. He is right, rent first, then if you love it, BUY.

Thanks for the welcome.

I understand the suggestion to rent first, but (with all due respect) this isn't a spur of the moment thing. We've been camping for years. Mostly tent, but most recently we've had a "Go-Tag-Along" (with no plumbing, basically a hard-sided tent).

I can't think of what benefit renting at this point would be. 🙂

Welcome @Clif001, glad to have you with us. The market is crazy right now so dive on something you like while it's available.
