Are they necessary?

My Suburban furnace on my current rig will throw heat in there, but my understanding is with Hydronic heat, that doesn’t happen. I would think that if they were necessary, they wouldn’t be listed as an option.

We had them on our 2017, but they are not on 2020. I asks about it and they said they were eliminated because not needed. Not sure if 2020 is first year without or not.

Newer Newmar’s have a heat duct in the wet bay that kicks on about 40 degrees, so no heat pads necessary.

I'm not sure when Newmar changed from pads to the convector, mine has the convector in the wet bay.

I had both in our 2017 and brochure shows the pads as an option. Researching Newmar brochures for 2018 and newer, heating pads are no longer listed as an option. So based on this info looks like 2017 was the last year of holding tank heating pads.

I don't recall them being standard or an option when we ordered our 2018 Mountain Aire. In addition to the heat convectors, the Oasis system provides some residual heat in the bays as well.
