Hi, @Tim RvMan, welcome to RVF. Glad to have you aboard.

I second Neal's recommendation; a good GPS configured for RV use is an essential item in my book. We use the slightly older Garmin 760 LMT, but it does pretty much the same thing with a few less bells and whistles. There was one listed for sale in the RV Classifieds a while back. Don't know whether it is still available but if you are interested, it might be worth a look.

Be sure to check out the newest offering from Garmin, the RV890

I served as a Beta-tester for that unit and can say it's really good...the best of their newest Android-based series I've used.

RV LIFE app and RV Trip Wizard are a pretty nice combo I’ve been using over the last year.

I couldn't get RV Trip Wizard 14 day trial version to work.
Only tech support was email.
Didn't want to spend money(even though small fee) if I couldn't get it to work.
Looked a little stcRV life. Hadn't made decision though.

FYI, they are extremely responsive folks. Sue watches the forums like crazy and Ed responds a lot to the Support emails. Just depends on how the inquiry is generated.

Sure have...a LOT! Probably 20-30 trips over 7,000 miles total.

It's just "OK"...it has a LONG way to go before I'd consider it as a primary nav source.
The list of shortcomings far outweigh the big benefit, which is that it automatically syncs to your RVTW trips.
I could give a long list of negatives, but will just say that, in terms of Driver Information, it pales in comparison with a Garmin Nav unit.
The features such as turn ahead, lanes info, hazard info, voice prompting, etc. are completely lacking.
I've also had several routes that are questionable, and it's impossible to make any changes "on the fly".

Thanks for that feedback. I used it twice this week and both times had me raising an eyebrow. I’m not sure what is RV friendly about a two lane gravel road shooting off of a 4 lane highway, but that’s what it wanted me to do. It also wanted to wait until I was in the middle of an intersection before telling me to turn right. It’s a good idea, but lacking in the execution it seems.

We've tried several work-arounds and came to the conclusion that a dedicated GPS unit like the Garmin was the right choice for us. Nothing else worked nearly as well. YMMV.
