HWH jack not retracting

My HWH jacks will not retract.

@Rscheinert I've had the same problem on occasion with one of the 4 jacks. In my case the issue was more prevalent in colder environments. My temporary solution was to start the auto store process then go to the offending jack and use what ever I could gather to create a lever to push up on the jack. So far I've had one jack replaced and a second has had a "kit" from HWH installed that created more spring tension on the retraction springs. The kit seems to be working although that particular jack is still the slowest of the 4. I ended up buying a scissor jack from walmart to carry in the event of a recurring issue.

Call HWH and a tech will walk you through getting the jacks up. At least on mine there's a couple of white levers on the end of two cylinders (in the basement on the passenger side)nthat they'll ask you to move/flip up to release the oil pressure allowing the jacks to retract.
We blew a fuse at the pump/tank that actually burned out the plug too. Can't recall the amperage but the plug was small in size (in IMHO). Was replaced with a much larger plug and similar amp fuse. No problems since about 1.5yrs ago.

LF and RR at this time. Two retracted and the other two required a lever to raise them.

While they are extended, spray WD-40 on the ram and up into the seal area, then press store.

The last time I called HWH for help they took my number and said a tech would call within…..three weeks! It would seem things have changed at HWH.

I agree with RKins using WD40. According to HWH is is the preferred lube.
But, after spraying, wipe them down prior to retracting. This will remove any dirt that can get into the seals.
I made this to wipe down the jacks prior to retracting. It is a broom handle with a hole drilled in the end. Bend a piece of copper tubing and sew a microfiber towel with a channel to slide over the tubing.
It is time to replace the towel.

This is a good product and I used on my table saw regularly. Didn’t leave a residue that transfers to the wood.

This is what I use too. Every once in a while I'll spray the extended jacks and wipe off with a paper towel. Once I started doing this I have no issues. Bought it off Amazon.

While at Devil's Tower, our FWS went out about 80% and stopped working. Could hear the motor whining and guessed that I sheared a pin between the motor and pump (was told by HWH that this isn't the case.... Have an appointment at HWH in Moscow, IA this Friday to repair it.
So far I've had 2 positive experiences with them.

All my jacks go up but a couple of them stay about a quarter inch out. Makes the dash warning light stay on. Thought maybe the return springs are too weak?

If the jack shafts are clean w W/D 40 then the springs may be weak

Ended up going to Stuart’s Services in Elkhart, In. and replaced all four. They are a HWH factory service center.
