That's how I've always lived. I thoroughly research my big purchases and then keep them. I still have my motorcycle I bought new in '83. I kept my boat for 24 years before selling and getting into my Class A. I learned as much as I could before deciding I was only looking at Newmar. From there it was a matter of must haves vs nice to have.History lately tends to show keep and learn to love what you have.
I have been watching them. There has been a few members here that had a very bad experience last year and ended up walking on the deal. I would want to see a final production unit to know if things have been corrected. My choice would be Fore Travel
Two friends, one a new Prevost, one a new Foretravel. Both have been back to the factory numerous times and the prevost is scheduled to go back again.I have been watching them. We are very much the same in this regard. Love our coach, perfect for what we wanted, and don't expect to change. Researched for about 2 years and landed on Newmar; took about another 6 months to find the deal I could live with. That's how I've always lived. I'm completely satisfied with my choice and trust it will be my first and only RV, it checked all the boxes and then some for my intended use. Oh, my car is 14 y.o.
I am coming at this from the perspective of currently owning a different brand and if we were to switch brands Newmar would be what we would consider.
From a build quality I would recommend considering Renegade. Obviously they are not Class A, but they have units with stand up cabs, where front seats spin around to face the living area.
Renegade is intriguing although the future of the company is somewhat it doubt due to it being acquired by a corporation that is not interested in the REV Group RV business and will likely divest it. If a private equity firm acquires Renegade I would be concerned about the future of the brand. We were looking at Newmar class A's (New Aire and small Dutch Star) but have shifted our focus to Class C's due to safety concerns. Our search has been narrowed to Newmar Superstar and Renegade Verona LE under 40'. The Superstar has more sophisticated and upscale interior design while Renegade Verona has more basic design but still appears to be well made appointed. Both appear to be solidly built on the Freightliner M2 chassis. We plan to comparison drive them at the upcoming Music City NIRVC Expo in June.If not Newmar, whats the other brand you would choose. I am still deciding and want to see options instead of a new Newmar.
Not impressed with Tiffin and Entegra DPs are finished. I am looking at a Dutch Star equivalent. New coaches only.
