I'm an idiot. I backed into a wall.

in my own driveway. I hit the retaining wall at 1/4 mph in reverse. With the side of the rear corner. Ugh. I'm so mad at myself. Thought i had PLENTY of room....
Yup, somehow i drove right into this wall 8 feet off my driveway.

Missed the bumper and took the direct scrape and pull right on the corner below the rear window height. Pulled a bit of the corner joint away to the point where you can see in and the edges are not connected. I'm so mad at myself. I cannot believe i did this.

I didn't take a pic of the damage, will add one later.

I thew some silicone pipe leak tape on it (only thing i had handy) to seal it up as we are expecting pouring rain tonight.

I'll get some pictures but i'm pretty sure this needs to go to a shop to be repaired. But, where? A standard auto body shop won't fix this type of stuff.
Should I call an rv roof replacement guy? There's one in my area.
attempt it myself with some amazon parts/sealant, tapes?

Well you’re not the first and won’t be the last. Pics will help answer the repair question.

I feel your pain, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I creased the very bottom of two baggage doors because I had a campground employee direct me on a turn and there was a small pole not very high off the ground out of sight line; never again will I listen w/o checking.

I had to Google RV autobody repair, the closest was 70 miles away; auto places won't touch it. Because aluminum is harder to work with they suggested replacing the doors for the minor crease. They convinced the insurance it would be cheaper overall to buy new and repaint and they agreed. Like it never happened.

Best of luck with repair.

I tried to relocate a power pedestal on my dream trip to Florida. Nothing a credit card can't fix and it's just a lesson, it will pass, someday you'll laugh about it over a campfire.

EVERYONE has an oopsie story or twelve to tell. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

I had a very close call this weekend. Rushing to back into garage due to coming storm and forgot to bring in bedroom slide. I had 1 inch to spare.

Man, the slide scares me. You'd think they'd wire up a switch that when the vehicle is on, it beeps at you because you're an idiot, like a seatbelt light. lol

Thanks for the words of encouragement. See ya at the fire.

I think the worst part was wondering how pissed my wife was going to be at me. lol She took it way better than i thought she would.

Pouring rain here this morning in the northeast -- the nor' easter hitting boston is getting us 100 miles inland too. Hope my bandaid holds up.

Lord man, join the club. ;)

Chill, my friend. Hit the gutter on old house. The next year hit gutter on new house for two different reasons. These things ate big and most of us get booboos from time to time. Fix it and enjoy the adventure. Oh yeah, got a good one on my first motorhome on the first full day of ownership. Oiy!! So you have a lot of company.

Tree limb while backing 5th wheel into tight camping site, knocked a hole in the side, beer flat and white duct tape to the rescue., got a fiberglass repair kit from NAPA when home and did my best, a large american flag sticker to hide the "body work" till its dying day

We got a little too close to the corner of a bathhouse pulling out once, on our 3rd trip in our new TT. Smushed the corner a bit, put a little rip in the side of the trailer. We stopped and reported it on our way out, they said it didn't sound like a big deal but they would let us know if there were any costs to fix it. Never heard back. Insurance covered the fix on the trailer. We went back to the campground later that year and they hadn't fixed the corner.
