I have the same problem in my 2004 Fleetwood Bounder 39z. I have had it looked at 2 times. The chaise is a Freightliner. This was a problem with models 1999 through 2005. I was told there were no new VDC/VCM s to be had. Miraculously they have found 3 new ones in their Memohis warehouse. They aren’t cheap. Also could be your gauges. I also order a new engine temperature gauge just so they can test the gauges to see if they are out. I also have newer gauge wire to test the gauges myself. I hope the new VDC/VCM will fix the problem.

Please let me know if you get this issue resolved. Thank you.

Please let me know where to get the instrument cluster if this is how you fixed the problem.

Freight liner Service center replaced one gauge on my control panel without installing new VDC and it worked! Order 5 more gauges and they were installed yesterday and everyone of them worked! Opted out of replacing the tachometer . The peace of Mind knowing how much fuel I had, the water temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and front and rear air pressure was worth the money I had to spend. I had order a used VDC from Vision RV salvage. I am trying to return it for a swap out with a tachometer. The tachometer is 3.75 inches and for a diesel engine. New they are over $850. Hope you can solve your problem.
