Is it okay to post 5-year old Barth Regency pictures in a for sale listing?

This past week, I was communicating with a purported Barth Regency owner who had the motorhome listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. To condense the conversation, I discovered that all of the pictures in the ad and that he sent me were over 5-years old. These pictures were originally taken by the RV dealer that sold the Barth to him. When I told him that I felt that this was dishonest, I got a loud FU. In this case, he was busted because the original selling dealer’s signage was visible through the windows of a couple of interior pictures. His defense was that I would have noticed the 5 year difference when inspecting the coach.

Is there anyone on this forum that thinks this is ok?

If he wanted to post old pictures, it should have been disclosed. The blow up is enough of a signal to move on to another unit. The "for sale" lists are plenty long without needing to take a chance.

Exactly, any communication from a seller, to me or someone before me that is negative in nature is a BFRF (big fat red flag).

I wouldn't have a BIG problem with the old pictures. You might attribute them to laziness, not good at taking pictures, or some such. (I once had a perfectly good phone that I broke the camera lens on.) A little negative but not a huge deal. That he blew up on being called out on the pictures instead offering an excuse/explanation would be an instant deal killer for me.

Pictures are ok if you need a general idea just maybe to assess whether or not to take the next step, but pictures like descriptions should never be trusted. Used motorhomes, like used Sailboats, should be viewed with a healthy dose of circumspection. People are literally giving, yes giving, used sailboats away right now and that's no exaggeration. 6 years ago there were 6,000 new sailboats registered, in 2025 there were 600. I imagine the MH market to be in similar straits.
