Merry Christmas to everyone!
I bumped into this area last year when I was still a novice.
I repaired the damage to the front, but I didn't fix the storage compartment. Today, when I checked, it seems like the wood has started to rot. Is it serious? Repairing it seems like it will cost a lot!
Don't even start on that kind of repair until you fix the leak . . . leaks . . . possibly plural. How old is the roof?
My wife and I tackled a similar but smaller job on our travel trailer and none of these repairs is brain surgery or rocket science level things. Fixing the roof membrane was the toughest but not tough and the rest of it is simple carpentry kinds of talents. The fact that we already have a table saw and other carpentry tools was a big help. Materials are not all that expensive. People in the neighborhood will grow weary of seeing a lot of blue tarps over a derelict vehicle in your yard.
And itl'll sure test a marriage if you are doing this with your spouse so set aside some cash for counseling afterwards. There was my side of the story, her side of the story and the truth was somewhere in the middle.
