I have a 2020 North Trail travel trailer, model 33RETS. The king bed is on a partial platform; about 18" of the mattress hangs down past the platform. Accordingly, the mattress slips down even farther in a very short time. It quickly gets to the point that the mattress is hanging down and isn't even long enough to support someone's legs when in bed. This ridiculous setup is due to the bed being in a slideout, and when the slideout is moved inward, the mattress is up against the built-in dresser. The platform itself is plywood and there is a storage compartment underneath, which lifts up like a toy chest. Any ideas about modifications that can be done to fix this issue?

Is that a full size King Bed mattress or an RV size? There is a difference.

Looks like you need a mattress that is the same size as the platform.

Pull the slide in all the way and measure the distance from the platform to what ever is at the end of it. In mine it is the dresser. That distance minus an inch would be how much more you could extend the platform, or you could find a short king mattress.

what happens to your mattress when you
bring the slide in? Does it get squished or still just hang there? If the latter, there’s likely room to rebuild the platform using a larger piece of plywood. If it gets squished because the mattress is too big, then you have two options:
1. Get a smaller mattress
2. Create a hinged piece of plywood at the foot, that you fold under the mattress before bringing the slide in, and fold out to provide support for the mattress after putting the slide out.

Thank you!
