Hi, I'm new to these forums and this is my first post here. I recently bought a 23' Komfort (manufactured by Thor, I believe...) bumper tow trailer. I went out to where it is currently stored a couple days ago to run power to the trailer and charge the batteries. I notice in the front of the trailer there is a constant humming sound like a water pump (maybe?) is running constantly. I can't find any switches to control the water pump or any kind of a distribution panel. I unplugged the trailer before I left for fear something would burn up if I left it running.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what it might be or where to start on this? The shore water inlet is on the front driver's side of the trailer. This seems to be near where the noise is coming from.
I would really like to be able to just shut it off, as there is no water hookup nearby.

I can't help you with your issue but I just want to welcome you to the forum.

You will find that there is mostly a friendly atmosphere here and many knowledgeable folk. I'm sure someone will be able to help you

If there's water in the trailer, you should be able to power the trailer and run the water from a trailer tap and hear if the water pump turns on with the tap, and then back off when the tap is closed. The sound of a pump running is less of a hum and more of a muted rattle, but at least you'll know what the pump sounds like. If there's no water and/or there's a tap already open when the trailer is powered, the pump will run. Most RV water pumps are okay to run dry, so you shouldn't burn anything up or destroy the pump, if that's where the noise is coming from.

I had a camp trailer many years ago. When plugged in, the AC-DC battery charger was in a box of some kind near the front, and it hummed louder than I thought it should when it was charging the house battery.

Good luck with your trailer, and don't forget to enjoy it!

Greg.
