Recently purchased a used 2017 jayco eagle ht fifth wheel and the original owner installed an LCI auto leveling system which is very nice however, after learning how the system works it occurred to me that the back jacks seem to low when retracted. While retracted, I only have about 4 to 5 inches of clearance to the ground. Research tells me about 7 inches is a good clearance. I looked to see if I could raise the jacks one or two bolt holes but the top where the motor sits is already against the floor of the trailer. And yes they're electric. Has anyone run in to this before? I'm very cautious of where I tow but there's going to be a time when I may have to back into into a site with a small hill or hump.

I know they would not work in a place I have been and am going this weekend on the Tennessee river. There are many marks from victims at the entrance to the park and my brother lost a front jack a couple of weeks ago. Ours are no where near that low. Not sure what the solution is.

If the rear jacks are real lose to the axle of the trailer they are probably OK. If they are closer to the rear end of the trailer then you've got problems.

OP, 4-5" doesn't sound like much clearance. You may be able to move the rear jacks forward which will give you more clearance.
