Looking for a digital camera

I buy a new digital camera with 42,000 features to use one - AUTO

Well…I was somewhat attracted to Mirrorless only because I want to do some Astrophotography imaging. It has a very low light sensor, and hoping with no mirror…the exposure won’t be ruined by the mirror jiggling the telescope. We have a Celestron NexStar 8SE. So, it’s like having a 2032mm lens in the camera. A bit too cumbersome for moving objects…but it can follow the night sky okay.

I have the same telescope. Took it out west when we did the balloon fiesta, etc. If only I could figure out how to use it, but was neat. Jupiter was in view, etc. at that time. Will try again someday.

Yes…learning curve involved. I’m still having issues with it keeping past alignment data which completely makes other alignments fail. I have been using the WiFi dongle and smartphone app. Works great when it doesn’t keep past data. Back key supposedly clears it in the hand controller. Will try that next. Or it could be an issue with the smartphone app. IDK. This summer will be our first big trip with the telescope. We wish we had it during our trip this past summer…UTAH and NM mainly with the whole Balloon Fiesta thrown in.

Sedona is big into dark sky and outdoor lights out by 10. Good place for it if you go there.

If New Mexico is on your route, consider touring the Very Large Array (VLA) but also that would be an amazing place to play with the telescope.
