Thanks. I have switched to RAW+Jpeg. But will wean myself off Jpeg soon. See no reason to download the files twice... many will be tossed anyway. I have ON1 2026 non-subscription editor...but have a lot to learn in order to get anything out of it. I haven't got the highlight feature turned on on my Canon...my Nikon does it...and I thought it was a lcd screen going bad. I need to figure out where to turn ot off until I'm better versed in it's benefits.If you use a post processing software (Lightroom, Capture One, DxO, etc) then be sure to shoot in RAW as you will be able to able to recover shadows and highlights to a degree you cannot imagine if you are used to JPGs.
But highlights can only be recovered if they are not totally blown out, so a slightly under-exposure is better in post recovery.
On my camera I use the highlight indicator to show me when I am losing data on the highlights.
