Hello All, I am Leigh! The cost of housing has become so ridiculous in my area that my grand plan/hope is purchase a travel trailer and live in it parked, in my parents backyard (they have a spot designed for RV storage) for a year, and hopefully save enough money to purchase a home, at which point I would sell the travel trailer.
Questions:
- What type/brand do you recommend for 4 season living ( it ranges from 0 to 100 degrees here)? My budget is $40,000 or less.
- propane or hook up to electric/gas from the house?
- Do the WD units really work in travel trailers?
- Any other advice/tips are welcomed!

Welcome @Leigh and "fulltiming" can be a great experience on the road and some do stay in campgrounds with long term leases or as you describe a relative is an option too. They are certainly an option. Some people put skirts around the basement to keep cold out, use heated water lines, etc. Insulation is important as well as a large external propane tank as long term residents will use instead of the built in ones. Keep on the lookout for a good used one but right now in the pandemic RV's have been hot sellers and the resale market is tough and expensive.
