I would say that anyone camping in a campground that allows RVs should expect to hear some furnaces, especially as it gets colder. As inefficient and loud as RV propane furnaces are, I would advise against modifying them for the reasons stated above.
My Oasis is fairly loud too and Im aware of that, but if I dont have electricity and it’s cold I’ll run it as necessary. Whenever I’m plugged in I just use a small electric heater, which of course is nearly silent and uses the power supplied by the park.
