Tonight was first run with the Meater 2 Plus. New York strips, could not have been more perfect. Yes, the Meater is a must have. I'm always so late to the game. Wow, and the phone app integration was so cool, told me when to take the steaks off the grill, when rest was complete, etc. Best steaks in a long time!!!

If you don't have one of these you are truly missing out.

One thing I didn’t realize until it prompted me is you have to keep the charge base near the temp probe, ie near the grill. It acts as the antenna to communicate with your phone.

Hellllooooo

Well crap! I need to call my sponsor.

I've been reading the reviews on Amazon about the Meater line and there are quite a few 1 stars that report loss of communication and then the probes bricking. Also read where the broadcast distance for some is down to like 10 ft. Also the same thing about the Thermo pro twins.

What do you guys think?

Did you see Neal's post?

Yup. Seems the problems they are having in the reviews is diminishing signal and then not able to connect at all. So, the transmitter is going belly up. I guess the biggest beef they had after this was there was no response from the mfr when the devices were failing. They said they never received a response. Something to watch out for over time.

It's worth a try. The range is not as I had hoped but it works well. Experiment and find what you like, so many options. I'm happy with the meater so far and have one for the RV when I can get back to that fun and the range with that should be fine vs. my house and trying to go from grill to living room where I have to hold the recliner down :)
