EF4 wins everytime. Barely a week after we got back from Florida, tornado went through and destroyed everything I own. Luckily I was the only one home and with God's help I survived. Lost a 38x30 and a 50x30 pole barn also not in picture.

Glad all are ok.

Sucks, but “stuff” can be replaced. Not a fun time though. Hang in there and count your blessings.

Terrible news. I'm glad you and family are safe. As with any tragedy, you will be better after recovering from it in many ways. I always try to make good from a bad. Stick around here with us and let us know how you're doing and when you'll be back on the road again.

It sucks, and it blows. LOL

I have very good insurance on all these things. I'm already looking at motorhomes.

We had a tornado go through my property on Feb. 29,2012. Not as strong. All I lost was a pole barn and my shingles and some window glass.

Got a new pole barn, a metal roof, and a few new windows.

This one was a lot stronger.

2 tornadoes on the same 2 acres in 13 years is a little much I think. I may not build back. Not sure yet. If I do I will either have a basement or a stand alone storm shelter.

State Farm is leasing us a house for a year.

I think we're going to buy a modular home and install a storm shelter. No more pole barns, tired of watching them blow down. I'll just buy a few conex/freight boxes to put my mower and tools in.
Buy another motorhome similar to what we had in age and quality, but hopefully with a bath and a half. No need to get in a hurry for that since I don't have anywhere to park it right now.

I'm very glad you and your family are safe.
I've had my share of this specific adventure as well.

Thank You Lord for your safety and your family's safety. Tornados scare me. Although I have lived through a few major earthquakes, I cannot imagine the force of a spinning mass of air leaving a path of complete destruction. Whew! It's apparent that you acknowledge the One that saved you, so I know you will leave it up to Him to re-build your life. I'm sorry for your loss but thank you for sharing your story. It's an eye opener. Blessings

A Baptist emergency group cut all my downed trees up and pushed them to the road for the county to pick up. What a blessing that was, I only had $1000 worth of insurance to clear downed trees.
A lady from Ohio stopped by and gave me a new bible with $450 inside and apologized because she wished it was more.
So many nice people.

State farm incompetence on rv insurance continues...
I've been on them for 2 months because they were getting estimates for "minor wind damage". Finally someone with some sense took the account away from that team and called me apologizing, said it was totaled and he'd get me a value. They agreed to pretty much what it was worth. Keep in mind I've already collected on my house and my suv. They even listed my house down to the last 2x4 in a mile long pdf estimate and paid me more than I was insured for. Collected everything on that except personal property.

Sent the title, they got that Monday. They call today wanting to talk about coming and getting it. I said Hell yes I've been begging you to get it out of my way for 2 months. Ok they say, they'll pick it up tomorrow, driver will call me when he's an hour away.

I just got a call from the tow truck driver. He says "Copart asked me to tow something from your house, what is it? A boat, jet ski, what?"
I said Motorhome with tag axle, 43 ft long, maybe as much as 40,000 pounds. He says Oh my God I can't pull that, they'll have to get someone else.

While I'm typing this post I get another call from copart asking for pictures of it. Good grief.

Motorhome still not picked up. They got a company and approval to pay, were supposed to call me Friday morning about when, didn't get a call.

I have given up on the motorhome search. I barely missed an Entegra 45 at TheMotorcoachStore, more than I wanted to spend but beautiful. 200 grand.

I went to look at an American Eagle 45 miles away, the person posting the ad seemed to be kind of a nitwit. Got there and looked it over, the guy who posted the ad was there but he didn't own the motorhome. The old guy who did own the motorhome and I would try to talk and nitwit kept interjecting salesman type comments. Owner was getting mad, as was I. I saw a few problems, he had taken the slide locks off on the full wall slide because they were locking up. Wife found a cracks in the entertainment center doors, and the sliding doors weren't shutting flush. Back girard awning had been ruined in a wind when he left it out and left the site.

I said Well thanks, I've got a few others to look at, I'll let you know. Nitwit says You better grab it now I've got a guy coming at 11:30 and he really wants it. Then nitwit says I'm going to go get a screwdriver and take the cracked cabinet doors off, it will look better. Owner says You ain't taking **** off, you leave it alone. Nitwit says No, I'm taking them off the guy will be here any minute. Owner was still screaming at him when we were backing out of the driveway.

Then there was an entegra in Chattanooga, identical to the one I missed at TheMotorcoachStore, but 20,000 more miles. I was messaging with the guy about going to look at it. Then I got to thinking, Am I crazy? I'm going to a town I don't even like and making a $190,000 deal with someone I've never met at an area I've never been? I told my wife my instincts were telling me to back out. Then the next day Chattanooga was under water.

I made a deal on a 495 sq ft park model in Ft. Myers. We're leaving this afternoon to drive down and close it out. More room and no motor to worry about. We don't travel anyway. The extent of our travel is going to Florida to our lot in November and then coming back in June. I enjoyed my motorhome ownership but I think at our age this will suit us better. Also it's costing me less money than the units I was looking at.
