My parents are now too elderly to enjoy their RV. So they told me to come up to Seattle and drive it to Tennessee cause it’s mine if I want it. It’s old but with 50k miles . It’s the 8.1 workhorse on a Chevy chassis. It’s in good shape but I do need to find a couple of exterior storage latches to replace the old ones. I’m going to see just what part number I need for them. Anyone might know part numbers or compatible replacements from somewhere?
A few photos of the RV itself as well. It’s older but I think it’s got a lot of life left in it.
Thanks in advance it’s my first post on my journey of learning to enjoy having a motorhome

Congrats on your new to you coach! Sorry about your parents…but now it’s your turn to enjoy RV life.

It would not be a bad idea to get the rig professionally inspected: RV Inspection Services - RVHelp You would learn a ton during an inspection. It is a long drive home and you do not want to things on the way.

Ask inspector/parents about how to winterize and summerize/sanitize. Write a procedure down.

I would be worried about the roof, tires, suspension, propane leaks, propane alarm and smoke alarm, etc.

I am down in the carribean at work this week. But it’s having that done and getting detailed then I will fly up to Seattle to get it and take it to Tennessee. Thank you for the advice cause I got a lot to learn about it for sure

Enjoy. It looks like they took good care of it.

If you were getting the rig from a private seller, the idea of an inspector is a good one.

However, a visit with your parents is not only healthy, but every issue that may have risen during it's intimate life can be shared first hand!

I hope you have time to make this experience a very meaningful one in more than one way!
