Basement pullout drawers in dead space.
I custom ordered (www.barkerdoor.com) the pullout drawers with a clearcoat finish to the width, height and depth to fit my basement openings. By ordering the "pullout drawers" on their website you get the Bluemotion Soft-Closing hardware already mounted on the drawer. Not cheap to custom order ($450 delivered) so you may want to build your own shelves or drawers but this option was best for me. It took about 5 weeks to receive the drawers from Barker Door. Then I went to Lowe's and purchased the aluminum angle iron to build the framing. In spite of my hatred of self tapping screws I found in this project they worked for me (I'm sure someone at Newmar would smile!). I had to relocate a few wires and the basement door closing sensors but it wasn't too difficult. Anyway, I love the shelves as they are very functional and it takes advantage of the "dead space" in the basement.

We finally ordered our DS 4081 and put in some specials.

KA Flooring
NA Backsplash
Hardwood Door
Vent the Microwave
Switched to a different DS counter (They charge for everything as you all know...)
Special Exterior Color

We're not too techie so we left all the outlets etc. as is. Should be good. More than the Canyon Star and that seemed to be OK.

Can't wait for late February, early March!

Thanks to this thread I was able to change the bedroom door in our New Aire order to all wood. We had changed the display hutch cabinet to all wood as a special, but forgot the bedroom door. So glad I saw this thread!
Other specials included:
- Conduit from the front ODS cabinet to the roof
- 110 outlet by the toilet (for bidet install at later date)
- 110 outlet and extra puck lights in wardrobe
- double hanging rods in ODS side of wardrobe
- extra overhead light over dinette table
- microwave vented to outside
- LADP shower fixture ILO of standard
- 110 outlets in basement bays 2, 4, 1 (essentially all four corners of basement)

Bumping this thread to those that ordered Newmars. Share your ideas, what got accepted, what got denied, pricing, anything you want to share. A great feature of ordering a Newmar is customization. I wasn't aware of it when I ordered mine so I missed out. Learn from others, share info, etc.

Here are the specials ordered on our 2022 Mountain Aire 4118.

• Omit the wooden fold down shower seat in shower.
• Omit the wall mounted soap/shampoo holders in shower.
• Add a 110-volt electrical outlet on right front face of back bath sink counter cabinet.
• Omit Clock & Artwork
• Deeper depth overhead cabinets over the kitchen dinette.
• Omit the decorative mirrors on the interior walls including behind the bed headboard … but leave the full-length mirror in the rear bath.
• Vent microwave to outside of coach.
• Use King Aire Flooring
• Add Queen Bed Option with larger nightstands.
• Want a standard width passenger seat.
• Exterior Colors Special
• Double Sink in Kitchen instead of Single Sink - DENIED

For anyone doing special colors, you can order a panel with your color selection from the Parts Department at Newmar for $300 so you can verify your colors on metal versus a computer screen.... well worth the $300!!!

Is that damage on the top of the rear cap? Looks like they hit something - both sides of the highest point and the cross piece is missing.

those are wires and tape hanging... the photo software used to sharpen the photos makes it look otherwise...

1. Run conduit from roof to overhead compartment over driver’s seat (aka Starlink Prep)
2. Electrical prep for freezer (110V and 12V) including tray.
3. NA24-622 Fabric A ILO B on front captains seats.

The following specials were denied:

1. Vent microwave to exterior wall
2. Prep for exterior entertainment (we didn’t want the exterior TV but wanted the bay prepped for it to help with resale later).

Can't believe they denied the vent microwave to exterior wall. I thought that was a pretty common special?

Our salesperson was surprised too. She was the one who recommended it and I am not terribly disappointed as there is a ceiling fan in the kitchen area. The only thing I can think of is that the 3549 floor plan has the microwave closer to the front of the coach than the other floor plans so there maybe an obstruction in that location.

I have asked for the following and will update when I get a reply
Upgrade to AGM batteries
Outside vent for convection oven
110 Outlet in rear bath closet
Change kitchen sink to an MA sink
Prep for outside freezer

I am shocked as I just wanted to know the current price of factory pickup, $6,600 I would never do it but wanted to know the current pricing
