We paid for a full inspection report on the new-to-us RV we plan to pick up Wednesday, and we‘re blown away. I think the guy took a picture of every square inch of that motorhome, and tested everything possible, despite the dealer insisting that they did a “full inspection“ when they took it in. The dealer of course, although extremely cooperative, probably considered it unnecessary. But sheeesh, the roof ladder is totally brokrn, and unusable - that didn’t show up in any of their photos - imagine that.
And yes, the inspector didn’t find any serious issues, but there were a few minor things we might not have noticed for a while. and we hope to get adjusted before leaving the area.
But, about the inspection: 131 pages in all - I only printed out the 6 summary pages, marking and commenting the items we hope to get addressed.
TOTALLY worthwhile on such a major investment as a motorhome - it’s like a medical baseline. It’ll be a good reference with all those photos of the roof and underside and closeups of all the mechanisms.
Thank you all who have mentioned NRVIA inspections over the years I’ve been reading these forums. Wish we’d known about this when we bought our last motorhome, but that one served us well anyhow - we were clueless but lucky.
Wish us well this week - We forwarded a cooy of the report to the dealer, with a list of items (bad latches and broken roof ladder) we want addressed, but we’re not showing up until Wednesday, hoping they’re all fized by then ?.
