First time we had this,we have used camper two years, I filled fresh tank yesterday, and the water has a rotten egg smell, It has been in storage for three weeks in hot weather. I did have the drainage valve open.
Can I do anything to get rid of the smell, we are camping for two more days, and how to prevent this again.

We get that periodically even though we are full time.

What I found was getting a container so we could use bleach that would go through the inlet hose.

1/4 cup per 15 gallons of water to sanitize the system.

Based on our experience I’d run some bleach through everything and let it sit for at least a few hours. Best is 24 hours if possible.

Run out of each faucet until you get a bleach smell then let it sit.

Drain and flush everything until all bleach smell is gone.

The other item to check is the hot water heater. On our old class c, that had a tank, I’d pull the anode to drain that after each trip. That flushes the tank and also drains so it doesn’t have water sitting in there. Just be sure it is full next time before turning hot water heater on electric.
