This is overdue; we were set for factory pickup on May 10. It seemed like the longest time between us selling our home (January 27) and going to Nappanee to pick up our rig. We were renting at The Villages in Florida for the intervening months. (That will require a thread of it’s own) We became Full-Timers, so not having a rig sucked! ??‍♀️

We left Lady Lake, Florida on May 6 to drive to Nappanaee and stopped in our old neighborhood outside Atlanta to visit our friends and neighbors. We got back on the road north on May 8 and stayed in Bowling Green, KY for the night. We had to stay in a hotel for the first time about 5 years; really nasty!

We headed to Nappanee in the morning and arrived in early evening Sunday. We had to stay at the Amish Inn for the night since we didn’t have a rig to swap.

Picking up rig was interesting; we were at the Customer Service center at 6:30. We got emails that told us 6 am and another that said 7 am. We decided to make it 6:30.

We had our credentials and got our temps checked and were told to take a seat to wait for the tech to come get us. At 7:30 he showed up.

We got to go into the service area, which was, literally right outside of service center door. We were allowed in due to FPU. No other service customers were allowed in the service bays. They really wanted to get in and see what the techs were doing and why. I hope, when we go back for warranty work, they allow us in to see and understand what they are doing, etc.

We went over all the systems, how they work, etc. I’m really cutting down what they did...there were some things that needed to be fixed and some that needed to be tweaked. We were able to get those fixed while we were there for the week. The strangest one was the HDMI cable to the satellite breaking off on the box as we were installing it on Monday night. This required our tech having to remove the sofa, the TV, all the window coverings and blinds and having to rerun a HDMI cable back through behind the dishwasher and to the sink! This took all day Tuesday! He did make the HDMI cable much longer to allow for install by the owner-that is where Newmar drops the ball. That HDMI was ridiculously short to start.

We ended being there from Monday thru Saturday. We left, got to our next campground and immediately realized that we had to start a warranty list. ??‍♀️

I know this happens with a moving home and the “earthquake on wheels“ we all hear about.

Overall, I would recommend everyone going to Newmar to get service done. Their service people are awesome!View attachment 7092View attachment 7093
