The people I work said they knew that I among them would be one prepared for the last hurricane. It's not like it took me a lot, the RV in the back yard being key. What got me is how unprepared they and most of my family was. We're all fairly rural, not a one living in an apartment building.
Son in law was the cherry on the cake. Borrowed one of my portable generators and brought it back when his power came back on (three days before ours) THEN went out and bought his own generator in the middle of the rush to buy them. Just three days later all kinds of deals are out there on Craigslist and Facebook for lightly used ones as everyone's power comes back on. I guess he's not as silly as people selling them thinking they will never need them again though.
