Skid platesI was checking into a locking fuel door to have installed on my F350 dually. No one seems to make one for a 2021 truck yet. My buddy said he read where the latest thing in California was the diesel and gas thieves are not using a hose to steal fuel/gas anymore but instead they are sliding under vehicles and simply punching a hole in the tanks. Apparently it is quicker and faster, plus you are hidden while filling up your containers.
Guess locking fuel door or locking gas caps won't help anymore.
Mine too but you might want to double check. The factory ones can sometimes be pretty pathetic. More like splash guards than skid plates. The FX4 package might also not have provided a fuel tank skid plate. I don’t know. Either way if they aren’t there or aren’t up to snuff, there are beefy aftermarket ones out there that would make someone move along to a softer target. You might be right, my truck is the FX4 off road so it does have those.
I only use red dye diesel .. I am safeI stuck a no trespassing sign under mine. I'm safe.
