Obviously the footprint of that light is different than the OEM model. Thus...new holes. What's the proper approach to mounting the new light ? I KNOW you guys have the installation down 😉 Thanks in advance

If you are concerned about drilling new holes in the side of your RV, which I was not, there are adapter plates that can be purchased. According to the listing, the adapter plates make a perfect fit.

Yea... I don't like drilling holes either. I just made sure there was nothing behind where was going to drill and made sure any old/unused holes would be covered by the new light.

Oh course...seems my quick and easy project(s) turn into a tad more work 😒 When I removed the old porch light I discovered it was not a surface mount, but recessed. Thus a 5 inch vertical hole by 2 inch wide was left for me to ponder. The light will not cover the hole so I ordered the mounting plate. By my calculations, it should BARELY cover the existing hole. If it doesn't, I'm open to suggestions. Geezzz...it's always something !

Well, my boating past just woke up (guess I'm WOKE - well, I'm not 😉) I will custom build a plastic (starboard) mounting plate...yup, that's my answer.

Actually I'm kind of upset at myself for not thinking of that first. My years as an offshore boater taught me to do it right the first time. So I Googled Starboard glue (knowing that in the past no glue would work on that material) and not only discovered there IS a new adhesive but a great source (does custom work). here's the link:
