We're used to the dashboard saying LTE or LTE-A. What is LTE R^ ?

Roaming

I've seen it only twice at two COE sites, strong signal but no IP to be had.

I tried it; apparently prepaid data doesn't have roaming enabled.

I think you'd have to enable roaming in the Pepwave cellular details/settings as well. I've seen the R and assumed it's roaming, maybe it's on a carrier that they have an agreement with so it's not true roaming but a secondary carrier in that area? Just guessing. When I was in Niagara Falls with AT&T a different carrier showed up on my phone, was weird, guessing it was that situation.

I enabled it in the Pepwave; the response was Connected but it could never get an IP. A phone may have worked for voice. I did learn that roaming may include slow data or no data. There is a strong ATT signal in this area.
A Verizon support person couldn't be led to understand what I was talking about.
