Apparently Berkshire Hathaway, 80% owner of Pilot, is a big believer in Autonomous trucking. Buffett also invests in Kodiak in a big way. Pilot is building autonomous ports for trailer transfer to "Last Mile" haulers. It looks like the days of the ORT, think Smokey and the Bandit, are coming to a close. Big trucking firms will simple out price independants with No Driver rigs.

I'm all for that. Seeing gear jammers rolling through on I-85 going 77mph down hill in a 60mph zone then 62mph up the other side then getting into the passing lane they're specifically prohibited from by way of unambiguous signs every 3-5 miles to pass another rig at +0.25mph, is getting old.
