I have a 2012 Toy Hauler that sustained some damage to the awning. The rafter claws had broken. I was having difficulty finding the part anywhere, so I called Dometic and was informed that they are not making the parts any longer. And suggested I try some salvage forums. Wow, way to go Dometic.
I used to think that Dometic were a good company, but no longer.

Did you ask for a substitution part. I really don't know what a rafter claw is but can imagine a couple things it could be.

Brian, welcome to RVForums, I'm sorry to hear of the issue and can certainly make for some frustrating times maintaining an RV. I hope you can find the needed part.

Thanks Neil. Yes I did ask for a substitute part. Her answer was look in salvage forums. Fortunately I believe I can fabricate my own part in steel. But it is not simple. And will take me 3-4 hours. By the way the rafter claw is the part that pushes the awning away from the RV When it is extended.
