Hello all,
My wife and I recently purchased our first class C motorhome. Its an older model and the Onan generator in it is not working. After finding out the price to repair or buy a new one we opted out of that route as the rv is older and it just doesn't seem worth it with this rv. We're presently looking at purchasing a portable generator to power the rv when we are boondocking. The question I have is what generators do you prefer? I'm only needing to run the interior lights and the air conditioner with the generator.
Thanks for any information
Jim

Honda seems to be the favorite external Genny.

Well Jim,

When you're not trying to keep up with the Joneses, the selection grows exponentially!

In recent years many inverter generators have hit the market, and all are quite reliable. Stick with suitcase units because weight is big when you want portable.

Through the years I have used

Honda
Champion
Predator

All with good luck! The off brands are not the same target for thieves, that Honda is. They are All easy to start, and reliable.

And no! I no longer use,or want one. Use the search window and look up poorboy generator,if you want to know what I use to keep the air conditioner going. That is the extra power when solar comes up short.

For my 20' trailer I bought:
Pulsar 4000W Portable Super Quiet Dual Fuel Inverter Generator GD400BN.
What I like about it, it is dual fuel. Runs on propane or gasoline.
Has 30A plug to connect my 30A cord directly.
Did not have a chance to use it yet, but people are very happy with them.
Weighs 50 pounds and I bought it from Walmart for under $500.
