Our ministry just received a 2016 Newmar Bay Star Sport 3306. The house batteries are dead and I was hoping to put 2 new Lithium batteries in as replacements. I read somewhere that a controller must be able to support Lithium batteries and that the alternator must be able to charge them. I know nothing about this rig. Does anyone know if it can handle the Lithium batteries? I am a total novice and know nothing about the technology in this rig.

Yes, you will have to replace the BIM (battery isolation manager, about 140.00 HERE) and configure the inverter charging system to the correct profile, which is easier than it sounds. If you have a Magnum inverter, here's a link to an explanation. CLICK HERE You may need to upgrade the control panel to the ME ARC 50 also. I just did our coach, and it wasn't as overwhelming as it first appeared.
