Hello Everyone,

I have a 2025 Flyer Pursue. I'm concerned about the rear receiver hitch being bolted to the frame. Looks like it's only an unreinforced short straight shank or whatever it's called. Would like to put on a E-Bike carrier and an E-Bike on the back of the RV. It's about 125 more or less total pounds of weight.

Question here is it stable and safe to do so on this bolted on? Anyone done any reinforcement modification? Factory support wasn't much help but telling me not to drill holes in the frame. So I'm open for any eyedias that would give me more peace in my mind.

Appreciate it,
James

I have seen some re-enforcement done by attaching two ratchet straps just to the bumper. Haven’t tried it myself but I’ll be watching any replies you may get.

It says the receiver is rated to 175lbs. You may want to secure the carrier in the receiver with an anti-rattle stabilizer ( $15-20.00 on Amazon). Make sure the bike carrier is RV rated, they’re a bit stouter built to handle the increased dynamic back there.

I have no idea what a Flyer Pursue is. Don't care enough to do a search.

However! Torque is more important than advertised capacity. Further consideration is balance and aerodynamics. This is very important on a pull behind, less of a problem for a fifth wheel.

It is better to get professional assessment, than to rely on any forum for advice. After all an EBike into someone's windshield could result in a lawsuit that would leave you a popper with sociological issues.

There is no way I would put any weight on that, 4 bolts?

Thank you for replying. Have no bumper in the back.

Thank you though.

I agreed and I do use the anti rattle stabilizer on my ball hitch if you meant that U-Bolt with a flat plate (lil curved on 1 side). Was advised by the factory NOT to modify back there so I was like hmm? I'm under 175 on the weight so should be good with attached safety cable/chained to the undercarriage for peace of mind lol. Aiy Aiy..I need another bike after dragged. Thank you for replying and here's your beer back.

What you put in the receiver ie. Carriers, reinforcement, bike. Needs to be calculated.

Depending on the equipment in your rig, specifications tell me you can haul 500 to 1000 lbs.

My guess is if you have the basic model, your tongue weight will be marginal when you're unloaded, and under 10% if your carier weights more than 70 lbs.

If the total package 175 lbs., on the high end model. Well the equipment you carry in the trailer will be 325lbs, or run overweight.

Answering some questions on a forum can hold legal implications, considering everything is in print "forever ".
So I caution you!

Believe what the manufacturer stated in their specs. Don't modify the equipment. And document your weights on commercial scales.
