One of our daughters has requested my knowledge on what to see, where to stay, and where to have a great meal when traveling. I have resisted, as it is so much after about 20 years. They have a new Brinkley fifth wheel . However, she is tenacious , and I must do it😳 If any of you have any favorite experiences, I would love to print it all off, and put it into my binder I am making for her . Of course, it would be identified as from this fun forum.
Many Thanks, Judy D

When we stayed in the Gulf Shores Alabama area last March, we went to an Oyster Farm. The farm is called Navy Cove Oysters and they do "tours". This isn't anything extravagant, but they show you how they raise oysters.

Cost is $35/person and the main oyster wrangler spent about 90 minutes with us, gave us an overview of the operation, and we consumed about a dozen oysters each while we were there as part of our learning experience.

As a bonus, we left a nice $40 tip and walked out with about 60 more oysters that we took back to the RV. My shucking skills certainly improved from the first to the last one and as a double bonus I still have all 10 digits on my hands.

I wouldn't go way out of the way for this, but it was a fun adventure and there is a great state park right down the road that would take up another good part of the day. We also stopped at LuLu's down the road for happy hour which is owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister and has a vibe like you would imagine.

Thanks, it is fun stuff like this that makes rving special!

Our top two would be the Florida Keys and Deadwood SD.

Key West is just a unique experience. My favorite hangout there is the iconic Sloppy Joe’s bar. https://sloppyjoes.com/. Bluewater Key Resort is where we last stayed, although it has become quite expensive since we were last there. Bluewater Key RV Resort | Discover how good life can be under the tiki

Deadwood and the surrounding areas (Spearfish, Sturgis) are highlights of our more recent travels. The Black Hills are breathtakingly beautiful creations of nature. We stayed at Elkhorn Ridge in Spearfish, which makes Deadwood and Sturgis easily accessible. ELKHORN RIDGE RESORT | Spearfish RV Campground & Tents

I highly recommend viewing the HBO series “Deadwood” prior to going there.

Neemer I certainly agree with the Deadwood SD area. Lots to do and come beautiful BLM land. Some is quite accessible for big rigs.

When we are traveling to a destination we love to use Harvest Hosts they are he best. And while you may spend money at these places you are getting something in return. We are not fans of RV parks and for the most part do not use them. We do have a senior pass and use federal parks, Corp Of Engineers(love these) county state and local parks. We have found many small communities have spots in their city parks that allow camping. These can be fun too.

Really depends on what you like to do. Me and the wife like to get away from. all commercial areas and cities. Like LOVED Yukon territory. Also depends on how far you like to travel by day or total. We have done 3 trips since we got our 27 foot class A. 7K 11 k and 5 k. from 4 to 6 weeks duration.
